About Me

I am a final year PhD candidate in Department of Computer Science at University of Virginia. Since 2013, I have been working on applying machine learning algorithms to biological data. To gain expertise on computational models in the field of machine learning, I work under supervision of Dr. Yanjun Qi. At the same time, in order to understand the biological data and related tasks, I have worked closely with members of Adli Lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics under guidance of Dr. Mazhar Adli from 2012 to 2015. I interned at Microsoft Research New England during this summer (2017) with Jennifer Listgarten as my mentor. My research involves developing efficient algorithms for bio-sequence analysis as well as applying deep learning models to novel biological applications.
